Did I do the right thing?

Question

I have an aunt, an uncle and a 5 year old cousin. Let's call them Jessie, Aiden and Alex. Jessie and Aiden are constantly fighting, they give each other black eyes and constantly break each others bones. I didn't want Alex to grow up in that kind of life, so I reported Jessie and Aiden. And Alex got taken away. I really did try talking to them and other family members about it, and it never changed a thing.. They suspect it was me who reported them, and now everybody hates me, including other family members. I do love them.. But I was just concerned for Alex.. He is skinny as a stick, and he doesn't behave right. I'm really upset about what everybody thinks of me now :(

Honestly, in my opinion you did the right thing. A home that a child grows up in is crucial to how they will be in life because of what they have grown up around. The violence may have started between the parents and maybe when the child got older might have moved on to your cousin. You did the right thing.

First of all you really did the right thing. And I honestly can't help you with the rest that's up to you sit and talk with your parents. Ask them would you rather them almost kill eachother and then "alex" grow up to be crazy and bad? Talk to them seriously it might help.

You totally did the right thing. no question about it. if they hate you the. they weren't paying attention to the bigger picture. being that he wasnt in a good environment.
