Betas in a large tank?

I put my beta in a 10 gallon is that too big?

    No, a 55 gallon would not be too big either.

    Bettas are perfectly good swimmers. The only possible problem is if the filter is too strong, so keep an eye on him to see if he is struggling on that side of the tank.

    No worries.

    Make sure he has some cover, like tall or floating plants, and the current from the filter isn't too strong, and he will be OK in any size tank. I've seen one happily living alone in a nice planted 55gal.

    No. Minimum of 5 gallons. But if you have 10 gallons you could add 5-6 Neons or Zebra Danios with the Betta.
