Simpler web projects to start with would include magazine like content sites with articles on subject you have a passion for, that eventually can earn some ad revenue. Wordpress is the industry standard blog platform with lots of customization add-ons available. Google's Blogger.com allows revenue generating ads on their totally free blogs.

Creating a forum site, perhaps on a free host is a more complicated thing, but member generated content can generate traffic with you just doing administrator work.

the likes of ebay, gumtree and craigslist amongst others have a decent profile and presence already

in addition I am aware from my dodgy corner of the world of dozens that have attempted to set up and compete during the last decade - since disappeared

if you dont have a revolutionary idea that will change the game perhaps youll be best to use your energies elsewhere
