Possession doesn't matter. He was touching the ball while out of bounds. Therefore, a turnover.

His hand was on the ball while his foot was out of bounds. It isn't rocket science. It's simple. You don't have to possess the ball for it to be out on you! All you have to do is be the guy touching the ball while you're out of bounds for it to be out!
