Why does my dog panic so much?
I have a Chihuahua/dachshund mix, who is about 4.5 years old now. We got her a little before she was 5 months old, and before that she had been to killing shelters and such. But that was so long ago! Whenever we leave, she panics. Whenever we take her in the car, she panics. She'll literally scream and shed everywhere. She now has Addison's disease, I guess from stress. But why does she panic like this?

It sounds like she has Separation Anxiety (see your vet for help with that), and a fear of car rides. Sadly, many dogs learn to hate riding in the car because they are only ever taken to the vet or the groomer (NOT their idea of fun!).
