When anything is wrong with the ABS the light goes on and the ABS no longer works. This causes the traction control light to go on because the ABS is needed for it to work. Any GM dealer can pull your code and point to the problem area. Many times one of the wheel sensors shorts and throws the light. The car can tell you which one. Check your manual as some cars have ways to blink the light to read it, to avoid the dealer.

You find a mechanic that has a scan tool which can read ABS trouble codes and find out which wheel speed sensor went bad. It's part of the wheel bearing hub assembly and will cost around $175 for the part. Figure another $125 for labor. Most shops will drop the diagnostic charge if you have them replace the bearing at the time they scan for codes.

Hi so as both are warning indicators of faults within the cars computers systems the only real fix it s hook up to the Pontiac dealers diagnostic computer for the error codes and a look in the little black book which is kept in most dealers safe for safe keeping. so time to be spending some money with a fix.

Figure out why the light is on by checking the codes & then diagnosing those codes. Go visit any GM Dealership, they can help you with that
