Is it possible to buy a boat in Alaska? Yes.

However, your plan is full of holes.

The closest place to the Russian mainland where you could probably buy a boat is in Nome. There are a few other villages that are closer, but they are difficult to get to and you would have to find someone willing to sell their own boat to you.

So, you would have to get your boat a lot farther than the distances you got in the answers to your other question. You would also have to go in the summer and deal with rough seas; seas that are probably too rough for a boat that small.

Unless you worked something out with the Russians ahead of time, you run the risk of getting arrested when you show up on shore. People have tried things like this before (including some people that have tried to walk across the ice in winter) and a few have run into problems with the Russians because they didn't have the proper clearance beforehand.

Yeah, you go ahead and float on over the border of Russian and see what happens. You like goulash in your Gulag?
