I mean, my yahoo answers nickname? I go into 'account info' and I see my nickname (chosen by yahoo without asking me) but no way of changing it. I tried to change my name to an initial instead, but though I filled in no address, it wouldn't save because it demanded postcodes. How can I choose my own Yahoo Answers nickname?

You can't. Just as you can't pick your own nick name, you can't change it. I've tried.

Change friends and you can change your nickname. Big transitions are usually the catalyst. So move from school to school, highschool to college, college to work, or place to place and give the ability to change the nickname. There is one caviot, you can not bring friends from your past into the future life, or else the old nickname could continue into your new life.
