why do celebrities get paid so much money? with about 7-8 of them you have enough money to possibly clean our nation's debt...,. why don't soldiers, police officers, fire fighters, truck drivers, and a whole list of other professions get paid more?

I'm not saying it's right, but just say celebrity X is in a movie that 10% of the country ends up seeing, that's somewhere around 30 million people. If they make just $0.10 from each one of those people seeing that movie (which is probably a gross overestimation) they make $3 million dollars from that one movie, because of how many of us see it. By comparison, if a firefighter in a city of 100,000 affects the lives of 10% of those in the city he lives in, that's 10,000 people. He makes $0.10 off of each of them...and that's $1,000.

Sometimes math just sucks.

its the free market thats why. if you have the talent and looks to be a star then you are rare so you cost more

almost anybody can drive a truck and most of those other jobs are full of average people

you sound jealous of those stars which is a dangerous way to think because it will make you bitter and mean

Because celebrities entertain millions, that`s why.
