Questions about Bodybuilding/Weight loss?

Okay so i ve been lifting for over 7 months now what are the best weight loss activity like? do you recommend high or low reps? because i just keep getting bigger and bigger but seems not to lose the fats i have i m not really that fat but i don t have any fats and a guy told me that i should stop adding weight every lift because i will just keep getting bigger but will not have abs or lose weight just gain weight so what should i do? oh and does Hydroxycut works? that guy recommended it to me and its pretty cheap so yeah hope you guys could answer my question tia :)
