I understand there are ways to fix a computer across a network or the internet with out having to be there in person.?
I would like to learn more on doing this. I am pretty good network trouble shooting, and repairs. But I do see services offered where folks do repairs from over the internet. Any guides or tutorials on how to do this? I am pretty efficient in Command Prompt infact I am old school DOS. Or do there have to be special software created for this? Mind you I am a developer And I can do programming. But I am just wondering if there s a way to do this using natural of what is there on each windows installation.

Yes and No. Sometimes Windows only gives people the good stuff (tools) when they run the PRO or higher versions of Windows. So, I wouldn't count on it always being there.
RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) is just a means to connect to another computer. Or you can you try apps like TeamViewer to accomplish the same thing. Once connected, It's still all about your skill as a Desktop Support dude.
As for those 'companies' advertising remote support -- they go out of business pretty fast. Seen my share of them come and go. Not a business model I'd advise you to copy. If you're serious, play around with TeamViewer and LogMeIn.

If you had to ask this your computer and networking knowledge must be pretty poor.
