Are other flower gardeners frustrated with the big seed companies?

The price of hybrid flower seeds is through the roof !

The number of cultivars is in decline. One has to go

with the one variety of the year on many plant lists.

I really feel that the Standard Oil approach is hurting

horticulture in the USA. Who has the money to pay

$1.00 per seed ?

    Big Seed Companies

Well, it's pay $1 per seed or pay $3 or $5 or $10 per plant after someone else grows those $1 seeds. I get frustrated with the big seed companies because they don't usually carry much variety, or they carry stuff too ordinary for my taste. That is why I order seed from smaller places and from several companies. No one place ever has all of what I want.

If the seed company is the selling company, they only produce seeds that grow in their region. If I want seeds from another region, I can't buy that from the local farms. It's not reasonable for a farm to grow 200 kinds of seeds. You need to be flexible in that.
