In the Harry Potter series, are there any books (i.e. in-universe) that the characters treat as extra-special?

That is - are there any books that the characters only touch with gloves, or place on a special shelf, or otherwise venerate in some way?

A good chunk of the books in the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts Library are probably specific in the ways they can be handled and stored. There are also some book in Florish and Blotts that are like that. The only ones that I think the books mentions specifically is the Monster Book of Monsters and the Invisible Book of Invisibility. You might want to check out Harry Potter and Pottermore at wikia.com to find more specifics.

    Not really.

Though, in the final book, Hermione does read a book on Horcruxes. She is said to handle it carefully, as though repulsed by it.
