Hey guys, i need some help with camping locations near NYC, any direct 2-2.5 hour drive no more.?

I ve googled so many, but neither really suit me and my friends. Basically looking for place where alcohol is allowed, and we can be left alone with the nature, like away from other people in about 2-4 mile radius with own exit to water for fishing. Also should offer rustic cabins or rent out tents.

Every thing i found so far offers only community setting camping, where 2 feet away there is another hour and people, bunch of kids and etc. we want to be away from that as it s no different than just living in NYC.

First, purchase appropriate backpacking gear. Second, go dispersed camping in either the Adirondacks or national forest lands. Follow dispersed camping regulations and leave-no-trace.

    Dispersed Camping Locations

Primitive camping is allowed on Forest Preserve lands in the Adirondack and Catskill Parks and most State Forests (including reforestation, multiple use and unique areas). Camping may be restricted on specific properties.

•You can camp anywhere as long as you are at least 150 feet from a water body, road, or trail, unless the area is posted as "Camping Prohibited."

•Camping for more than 3 nights or with 10 or more people requires a permit from a forest ranger.

Camping is allowed on some Conservation Easements and only at designated primitive campsites.

    Designated primitive campsites

You may also camp at any designated primitive campsite. These are situated to minimize the impacts of camping. The sites are typically flatter than other areas and have deeper, harder soils more resistant to heavy use and erosion. Many sites have nearby pit privies as well.

Read your question back to yourself carefully and you might begin to understand why your "ideal" site is so hard to find. First, you are unwilling to drive more than a couple of hours from the most densely populated area of the country (meaning that there are thousands more like you seeking the same nearby escape). Second, you say you need to rent a cabin or tent. Why would people locate cabins or tents in relatively inaccessible areas? Such facilities are naturally sited near access and utilities and other such cabins and tents. Also you claim to want to be on a nice lake for fishing -- another resources tens of thousands of people in the immediate area are going to be attracted to.

If you want privacy, good fishing and a place where you can "party" without having regulations and others around, you need to be more reasonable. You can drive 4 hours and be in the upper Adirondacks where there are literally hundreds of pristine lakes and sites you can backpack into where there will be nobody else for miles around. Of course you will have to bring your own tents, gear and edibles/drinkables and haul them in on foot or by canoe. If you want to be "left alone" you have to be willing to expend more effort than the rest of the hordes seeking the same wilderness holiday. That means driving farther, having everything you need with you and hiking, biking or paddling deep into the woods.

If access to your ideal spot was simple and nearby, hundreds of others have already discovered it and will be heading there too.
