A monatomic Ideal gas...Find work done. Help Please!?
A monatomic ideal gas with volume 0.200 L is rapidly compressed, so the process can be considered adiabatic. If the gas is initially at 1.01x10^5 Pa and 3.00x10^2 K and the final temperature is 477 K, find the work done by the gas on the environment, Wenv.
I get 30.9 J when I do it, but the book says the answer is -17.9 J. Please explain how to get the right answer.

ΔU = ΔQ - L
if adiabatic ΔQ = 0
then
L = - ΔU
L = - 3/2 n R ΔT
where
n = pi Vi / (R Ti) = 8,1x10^-3 mol
then
L = -1.5 * 8,1x10^-3 * 177 = -17.9 J
