Check Engine Light Code P0335?

Mazda Speed6 throwing code P0335 (Crank Shaft Position) with NO accompanying codes. Car drives and starts as usual with no problems. NO miss-fires experienced.

I have already:

Checked Pulse Plate for damage and alignment.

Checked Fuel Trims.

Cleaned CPS.

Checked Wiring.

Changed Spark Plugs.

CEL comes on only during start-up never while driving - reoccurring at approx every 7 key cycles.

No other issues to report.

Any Ideas Guys? I'm stumped...

Thanks.

It sounds like you might have a CSP sensor going bad. Have you tried calling a Mazda dealer and talking to the service desk?

Heck No. lol. Sensor replacement was my next step...reluctantly. I have a standard Volt-Ohmmeter, but not an Oscilloscope as needed... Would you say sensor failure is likely in the event that no other codes are accompanying? Usually we'd see other codes thrown in tandem if true crank shaft placement were an issue, right?

    Thanks for your Answer.
