Best laptop 2015 for studies?

Question

I've been looking and searching and found a few options. Is the new Macbook 12" something that will last for at least 3-4 years? Otherwise my second option is the Macbook pro 2015.

I want a laptop with a good display, good battery and portable. It doesn't have to be a really fast with high specs, because it will be used for studies (word, excel, netflix, youtube, facebook etc). The ports arent importants as well since im using wifi and no USB devices.

Any suggestions / opinions? Thank you.

I agree with the Chromebook and Asus Zenbook from the answer above. If I were you, I would go for the Asus Zenbook. It is one of the best student ultrabooks as far as I'm concerned - its small, light and has a very clean design. Plus I've read many reviews on how fast it loads pages, and you wont have to worry about your laptop heating or the loudness of a fan because of the Intel Core M that is used the in the Asus Zenbook UX305. Literally an ultrabook for ninjas.

i would not get chromebook simply because it is so limiting. you may need to use a program that you cant use on chrome all a chromebooks is is an android phone or tablet with a larger screen and a physical keyboard. basically wasting your money in my opinion.  i would not recommend windows because windows has so many issues.  updating is one.not only can updates take forever to download and install but three times since august ms has had to take down updates that caused so many issues on laptops(such as having to reinstall the OS).  macbook air has a battery life of 12 hours, you wont find a windows laptop that comes close to that.  it is much better to deal with one company,such as mac, instead have to worry about dealing with a manufacturer, the os maker, and third party vendors. with mac you get one company to deal with and makes everything easier.  among many other reasons windows is bad,including windows 10 is going to be even worse than win 8.  i myself am switching to mac because i am sick of windows.   so i would go with a macbook air,which comes with a basic office suite.  if you dont like it,there are free alternative office suites for mac.  contact me if you need more help. jdbj32m@yahoo.com
