If you are using the ac adapter that came with your laptop it may have developed a fault and needs to be replaced. If you bought an ac adapter so that you can leave one at home and take on with you the one you are using right now is not providing enough power for your laptop. AC adapter are not universal and you must match the power rating from the original adapter to any replacement you buy.

    Hi lynn,

My name is Senthil and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. Please try with different adapter and check if the issue persists. . Also update the BIOS using the link below.

    http://dell.to/13EVLww

In this link punch in the system service tag or express service code and select the appropriate operating system, under the BIOS category select the latest BIOS and install it.

Connect the Ac Adapter before updating the BIOS and do not use the system until it restarts after the update.

In case the issue persists please contact the technical support department using the link here: http://dell.to/1GQnziH in this link punch in the system service tag and click on submit and you can get the technical support number. They will able to help you in giving more information. If you have any other issues or concerns please let us know about it and we will be glad to assist you. I hope you find this useful.

    Thanks,

    Senthil

replace it with one that is 65W or more. Sounds like you have the wrong adapter for it.
