is it worth waiting for windows 10?

so my birthday passed recently and i'm waiting on my irthday present from my mom which was going to be a new laptop originally was going to get a windows 7 computer ( i hate windows 8 so don't even bother suggesting it) but then i realized that windows 1o is coming ou in a couple of weeks and i want to know if i should wait or not. this laptop is going to be mostly used for gaming and school work if thats of anyuse. i want widows seven because i know i can trust it but i'm not sure about windows 10. any answers are appriciated

    I'd wait since companies will likely release new models alongside Windows 10. I'd also get one with an SSD or upgrade it after to an SSD.

    Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for any machine with windows 7, after July 29th, so whether you wait or get one now will make no difference
