On my android phone, whenever browsing the web, I keep getting redirected to the play store to download some random app. How can I stop this?

If it's the same random app, your sir, (or ma'am) have a virus. Sometimes web pages will have ads that you can inadvertently click on and it directs you. If there is no cue to the play store, you have a virus.
