Could I possibly get throat cancer?

I've been having acid reflux since October 2013, the symptom was constantly clearing my throat. Yes the doctor said I had GERD. I've been on medication for about six months I wasn't on medication before. I still constantly clear my throat but I don't get those kind of stuff where people like throw up and get bad heart burn. It's now mostly just my voice changing and constantly clearing my throat . Could this be throat cancer? Could my acid reflux cause throat cancer? I'm 18 6"1 300im trying to lose weight noW

I'm not really having too many more symptoms other than what I mentioned earlier. My glands seem slightly tender on that side, but I don't think that they're swollen. I don't have a fever or anything, and I'm pretty sure that I don't really have any symptoms related to thyroid issues. That's why I'm so concerned since I don't really have any symptoms besides the throat pain, and the white spot with redness around it. I thought maybe that I scratched it, but it's not really getting all that much better or less swollen on that side.

Most likely NOT a cancer, but the acidic stomach contents do cause an awful lot of burning and irritation on the very delicate mucous membranes of your larynx, causing the lump-in-a-throat feeling and urgency to clear the throat all the time.

You need to get your GERD under control and well medicated, also, a collaboration between your GERD doctor and an ear-nose-throat specialist is VERY important.
