Pride Gogo scooter battery troubles?

I have this little scooter and had changed the batteries once a few months back (Yes I got the same batteries) but the charger still only manages to do a few hours. (2 hours solid red light then maybe 1 of alternating, should be 8 hours I think) giving less than a days power in a small area.

On the back of the charger it says output 24V 3.0A MAX, input 100-240 V 1.8A. I think I need a new charger?

Have someone who really understands batteries and chargers examine the entire setup.

Finding such a person is likely to be difficult, but they do exist.

Dunno. batteries loose their ability to recharge over time.
