Why would the true God in the Old Testament not be a trinity or not be understood that way and still be worshiped?

The Encyclopedia of Religion admits: “Theologians today are in agreement that the Hebrew Bible does not contain a doctrine of the Trinity.” And the New Catholic Encyclopedia also says: “The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is not taught in the O[ld] T[estament].”

Similarly, in his book The Triune God, Jesuit Edmund Fortman admits: “The Old Testament . . . tells us nothing explicitly or by necessary implication of a Triune God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. . . . There is no evidence that any sacred writer even suspected the existence of a [Trinity] within the Godhead. . . . Even to see in [the “Old Testament”] suggestions or foreshadowings or ‘veiled signs’ of the trinity of persons, is to go beyond the words and intent of the sacred writers.”

The words "true god" make your question invalid..

The Trinity was invented several hundred years after the Old Testament!

The Romans plagiarized the O.T. to create a political authority.

To start the bible, the 3 nature of God is very clear even in Genesis: Elohim is read plural: He said, Let US make man in our image; The spirit of God hovers over the water... Jesus was not reveal at that time, except Isaiah prophecize it... the staff of Moses is referred as salvation of men...the 3 angels appeared to Abraham in Mamre: but he called him "My Lord" -singular.

What true god would you be talking about there are thousands of imaginary ones!!! No actual gods or devils exist anywhere outside of any ones religiously inculcated minds!!! If they did exist then we would not!!!
