Why is everyone rushing to have sex?
I'm 15 I've been in a relationship for 11 months now hes 16 and he understands I want to wait until I'm at least out of high school and he said he'll wait (he's technically a virgin to) but it seems like everyone my age is trying to lose their virginity as fast as possible and everyone keeps asking me when am I going to and why aren't I other ppl think its weird that I think I need to be little more mature to make a decision that big and that I feel like if someone really wants to be with me than they can wait to and if they do than that'll show me that they care enough about me to wait for me to be ready. Why do other ppl my age think that's ridiculous and that I'm weird for thinking that way?
I'd appreciate only positivity don't give me the whole "it won't work out"speech heard it about a thousand time never asked for relationship advice I just want to know why people think I'm weird for not rushing and I do think it's a big deal.

Hi.. you're smart, the rest of the world seems to be a bit on the dumb side.
I'm a lot older than you, and from what i see, having sex for teens seems to be some sort of vulgar competition. I think that's just wrong. And they are wrecking things for themselves, if you ask me.
Just having sex for the sake of sex isn't any fun, unless you are with someone you are close with and feel a very strong attraction to -- at least, this is true for most women. Sex is supposed to be an intimate, personal thing not something we talk to everyone about in public. I often wonder why kids today think it's ok to announce their sexual activity to everyone else. .... probably because nothing is sacred anymore, and it's just a huge game to these kids? I can't think of anything else.
And first time sex is usually not that great, sometimes a disaster because we are inexperienced and have no idea what we are doing, except for the mechanics of it all. Sex is about more than intercourse.... it can be very pleasurable and even fun between two people who care about each other.
I truly don't see why your friends would think it's weird, OR ANY OF THEIR BUSINESS whether you have had sex or not. Mature adults don't run around telling each other about their sex lives or comparing notes about sex either. That behavior is immature,(and irresponsible).
If anyone had asked me if i was a virgin when i was 15? I'd have told them it was none of their concern and was not up for discussion. People who ask this, are intruding on your personal life.
Take care of YOU and do what is best for you always. You are smarter than your friends, that's for sure!

To be honest with you, people blow it out of context and act like it's a huge deal, but it actually will be your worst sexual experience of your life. Not to mention you are going to feel ten times worse when you wait with your bf have sex and eventually break up which you definitely will bc not relationship that starts at that age lasts for life.
