When the Bible says in Corinthians that Jesus is not equal to the Father and those of you who do not take God at His Word why?

    The Bible does not "say" that in Corinthians. In fact, I cannot find the word "equal" in Corinthians.

    So: what DOES the Bible "say" - that is, what words does the Bible itself use - and why do you BELIEVE that it MEANS that Jesus is not equal to the Father?

    Corinthians was written by Paul. And there is NO WAY Paul taught Jesus was a creature.

    Read Phillipians 2 and Hebrews 1.

    You HAVE NOT read the bible - that's your problem.

    What about John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 he was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through HIM and apart from HIM nothing came into being that has come into being.

    I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but people tend to interpret the bible in different ways. That's actually the REASON that Christianity has so many different sects. Are you just becoming aware of this right now, today?

    Jehovah Witnesses tend to learn the "proof texts" really well. They take these verses out of context.

    Why would he say that? Does the bible give an answer to that question or should we just let this comment just hang out there by itself and without context?

    Phillipians 2:5-

    5 Have this attitude [e]in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be [f]grasped, 7 but [g]emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death [h]on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

    5 For He did not subject to angels [g]the world to come, concerning which we are speaking. 6 But one has testified somewhere, saying,

    “What is man, that You remember him?

    Or the son of man, that You are concerned about him?

    7

    “You have made him [h]for a little while lower than the angels;

    You have crowned him with glory and honor,

    [i]And have appointed him over the works of Your hands;

    8

    You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”

    For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.

    Jesus Briefly Humbled

    or how about Hebrews 2:9-

    9 But we do see Him who was made [j]for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

    10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the [k]author of their salvation through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are [l]sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying,

    “I will proclaim Your name to My brethren,

    In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.”

    13 And again,

    “I will put My trust in Him.”

    And again,

    “Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”

    14 Therefore, since the children share in [m]flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not [n]give help to angels, but He gives help to the [o]descendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He [p]had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

    The bible is an amazing little book for those interested in reading it. the only time it gets confusing is when people tinker with writings who don't have the Spirit of God.

    he isnt in rank. but in nature they are equal. just like your earthly father, in rank he is greater, but as nature humanly he is your equal. think military.your in army, your general is greater in rank, but as far as human nature he is just a man like any other man.

    Christians "pick and choose" what to believe and what not to believe.
