Are cloud apps in the apple appstore free?

I recently bought an iPhone and i havent used an apple product in a while i just downloaded some apps but some have the cloud next to them. Help please. Yislamo!

    A cloud symbol next to an app means that you've downloaded it before, either on the same device or another device linked to the same Apple ID. Subsequent downloads are free, even if you originally had to pay for the app.

    The apps with that icon next to them would mean they are already bought but not installed. You tap that to download it to be installed.
