You can download the software from Canon but you should not be using it at all. You should pop the memory card out and put it into your computers card reader, and copy the files you want. You will find them in the DCIM folder on the card. The only issue is don't modify any pictures on the card or your camera will no longer be able to show them. You can simply delete them. You do not need to turn the camera on nor connect it with a cable. If your computer is a desktop, you may not have a SD card reader, but you can buy a USB adapter for about $10.

All the downloads for your Canon Rebel T3 are here http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/eos...
Click on the "Software" tab.
The one you need to download is the "EOS Digital Solution Disk Software 29.0A for Windows" - it contains everything that is on the disk, in one installer file.

Go to Canon's website, and under Support, you can download the software and manuals for any of their products - including your camera.

Go to the Canon website and if you can't find your product software, go to their support or contact pages AND either write to them via email or ring them up.

If you can't get the software, just get a USB card reader (very affordable) and put your camera's card in it. If you want free picture editing software get one from

From the Canon website

You will need the serial number of your camera - it is on the sticker on the base plate.
