x : 8 = 9 : 24

x = 3

2.)

y : 15 = 7 : 3

y = 35

a : 8 = 9 : 4

a = 18

This maths problem can be found under ration. It's a equational ratio.

1.) x : 8 = 9 : 24

> In Ratio this symbol ":" represents division. So you can write it like this and simplify it

x/8 = 9/24

>You are going to cross multiply x with 24 and 8 with 9 ( Right numerator with Left denumerator and Right denumerator with Left numerator)

x (multiply by X) 24 = 8 (multiply by X) 9

24x = 72

> Divide 72 with the coefcicient of x (24).

x = 72/24

x = 3

Try this method for the next question

3, 35, 18

x/8=9/24

x=72/24

x=3

...

y/15=7/3

y=105/3

y=35

...

a/8=9/4

a=72/4

a=18

these are PROPORTIONS !

x / 8 = 9 / 24

24x = 72

x = 3
