Why does the U.K. list caffeine under "flavourings" when it doesn t affect taste?

I understand it has a SLIGHT bitter taste, but the 50mg or so in soda doesn t really affect taste whatsoever, so why is it listed under flavorings? Is it a social thing (aka people don t want to admit it s an added drug?)

In the U.S. it s not listed as flavouring.

It seems sort of deceptive to me.

Yes, caffeine is clearly an addictive flavorless flavouring that we add.

It is NOT flavorless. It is NOT clearly addictive. Your own language concedes you don't actually know ANYTHING about caffeine.

yeah but its a natural one and is NOT added to coffee or tea. Whats the matter, don't like "natural" drugs?
