At what age did you put your little one into a forward facing car seat?
I know rear facing is best and you must do rear facing until 9 months (UK) and the legislation which isn't in yet will be 16 months but I was just wondering what people have done. Thanks.

I forward faced them at 12 months, because they outgrew their group 0+ seat and at the time quality rear facing group 1 seats weren't yet available.
The reason legislation in the UK (and other European countries) is changing is because of new guidelines at EU level. Because of those new guidelines, rear facing (or to be exact, convertible, so rear or forward facing) group 1 car seats are becoming available. For instance Maxi Cosi (reputable car seat brand available in the UK) recently released the 2wayPearl, in which you can rear face a child up to 4 years old. I would really recommend looking into the newer seats, it is much safer to rear face until at least 2 years old.

By law, in Tennessee, they have to be rear facing until age one. It's recommended that they stay rear facing until age two. I turned my son forward facing when he turned a year old because he was too tall to sit rear facing. There's also a weight and height limit they must reach before they can be forward facing. So even if they are a year old if they do not reach the height and weight requirements they should still be rear facing.

9 months? Are you serious? Way to young. It's recommended age 2 we did at 12 months. She would cry and throw fits rear facing. Now she is so happy and we hardly have problems. She is almost 13 mnths and tall.

we did for our son at about 14 months because he was long and he was very uncomfortable but in some places the law is 2 years
Not trying to be rude but 9 months is too early.

2 years is recommended here in the US (actual law varies state to state), though we turned our lil guy around at 22 months. He's tall and was starting to get uncomfortable, and turning him forward put an end to our daily car tantrums.
