Does anyone really give a crap about upcoming Windows 10? seems like a glossed-over version of 8.1. Win XP and Win 7 were the best IMHO.?

Windows XP was garbage but since people used it so long they simply didn't know any better. The OS could be taken out by a badly coded driver. Drivers were the number one cause of crashes for XP.

7 was a glossed-over Vista. 8 was an actual evolution but Microsoft screwed it up with the whole start screen thing. Windows 10 is what 8 should have been just like 7 was what Vista should have been.

If you don't have a touchscreen for the dual-format of windows 8.1, I can see where it would be a pain. I just don't trust anything that Microsoft "gives" away. They just didn't have enough beta testers to find out the problems with the new os. Microsoft is also notorious for putting out an os before it should be. I've played with windows 10 and the constant updates are a nightmare for various viral programs as well as networking. I'm not a big change person and I would be happy still having DOS. I, however, don't have a problem with windows 8.1 as it works fine for a laptop with a touchscreen and it is kinda fun zipping your finger around the programs page after flipping it up with a finger from the start page. Windows 10 having the traditional start on the left is fine if the it didn't stick with trying to scroll through the programs. I think it is just a personal choice. In the computer world, no one except Android "gives" you anything. So beware of conflict and update problems for months to come.

True, we have to move on.... but I already tried Windows 10 preview, didn't see anything great about it that would make me want to upgrade all my desktops and laptops. Plus, it's missing features that were in earlier versions of Windows
