What are the benefits of applying Minimum Wage standards to ALL civil servants? and All legislators?
i.e. members of ALL Three branches of government including politicians, judges, ANY law enforcement,
Maybe Minimum Wage would be too high for those dedicated civil servants. Jury Duty pays between $30 - $40 a day. Perhaps that pay would be most appropriate.
Does it occur to you that the work done by these civil servants might improve?
How the society benefit from such an enterprise?

The minimum wage is a standard set by the criteria that depends on the worth of the job. It's been like that for awhile. We associate the "minimum wage" as being the lowest of any job criteria. Civil servants quite often do receive a minimum wage, but I would LOVE to see what would happen if the opulent disgusting politicians and crooks in DC were to suddenly be issued a $7.50 per hour wage!!

Minimum wage standard are already applied to all civil servants. You do understand that a minimum wage only sets the lowest wage that may be paid it does not effect the maximum wage that may be paid nor any wage in between.

We don't need a minimum wage. We need a minimum family income. Let the wages be paid at market rates and an Advanced Earned Income Credit, paid for by lifting the employment tax cap on those earning over $177,000 help pay for it.

The only benefit I can see is a significant saving in department spending, not only because some people will see massive pay de-creases but also because people would leave thus no wage would be paid at all if no one is willing to do it on the minimum wage! Obviously the cons outweigh the pros 10 fold...

At one time in the past, civil service pay was going to be reformed so those that produced and were efficient got pay increases. Those that just did the minimum to get paid would not get pay increases.
This "crazy" idea was shot down when the union got involved.
