What is the best short story you ever read? Please recommend me some. Need something good to read. Like 'The little prince'.?

There's not much like "The Little Prince." I like Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery."

Ray Bradbury: "A Sound of Thunder."

Eudora Welty: "Why I Live at the P.O."

James Thurber: "The Night the Bed Fell."

O. Henry: "The Gift of the Magi."

I assume you mean children's stories, by your example, so I would recommend anything by Hans Christian Anderson, like the Little Mermaid. It's completely different than the Disney version. Also, The Elf in the Rose.

The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis;

The Neverending Story;

Animal Farm.

Try "Parables From Other Planets." It came out quite a few years ago, but is similar to "The Little Prince."
