Does MLB have a Salary Cap?

    No, they have a salary tax system which only taxes the higher teams for paying so much in salaries.

    Easy answer: No, it does not.

    MLB does, however, impose a luxury tax on teams that exceed the salary threshold set in the CBA. The tax is designed to ensure parity between large and small market franchises by discouraging teams from exceeding the threshold, but if a club can afford to pay a dog like Carl Crawford $21M a year, and extra $15M or $20M in taxes isn't going to worry them.

    Not per se. They do have a luxury tax for high salaried teams, but a team could theoretically spend a billion dollars on salary if they could afford it.

    No, but if a team goes over the luxury tax threshold, they have to pay significantly more than just their player's salaries.
