Scared I have a brain tumor?

So I went to the ER this morning for back of the head headaches for about 4 days. Short story is he told me it was an exertion headache from 4 days ago when it began I got very lightheaded and a shooting headache in the back of my head after not breathing enough during a deadlift set. My worry is that the CT scan I had (came up completely normal) missed a tumor. He told me to call me regular doctor just to let him know what occurred, and that he can decide if it's really necessary for follow up.

My friend died of a brain tumor and she had NO symptoms at all until it had advanced to the final stages and even then she didn't have headaches she had fainting episodes and speech issues. You don't have a brain tumor and thank your lucky stars for that. Do as the ER doctor told you.

I'm not saying that the CT scan didn't miss a "tumor" but why exactly do you believe that it must have?

The CT scan is pretty thorough - as well as the fact that trained techs know what to look for. Even when they "think" they might see something - they ask someone else to take a look at it. Sometimes going as far as sending it to a different hospital for evaluation.

If they told you everything is fine - odds are - everything is fine and you are worrying yourself for nothing.

See your regular doctor for a follow up and ask him all your questions to ease your mind.
