Hello all. Would I be able to see the Andromeda Galaxy from a dark location in the summer time or can we only see it in winter from Canada.?

Andromeda is a circumpolar constellation so we can see it at any time during the year from anywhere in Canada.

Andromeda is visible in the eastern sky in the the early morning, use planetarium software (or online) to see the exact location.

Andromeda Galaxy can be seen anywhere except from Patagonia & Antarctica - if the conditions are good, like faraway from city-lights. except in April, when the Sun s on line (same Right Ascension) we can see it. It appears rising in east Autumn reaching midnight culmination in late Autumn (mid October) & rises (in east obviously) with sunset. In summer one needs to get up in the very early hours of morning to see (East at your Latitudes).

You can only see it when it is above the horizon at night, of course, which in Canada is going to be autumn/winter to be able to see it at a convenient time after dark.

Someone else advised planetarium software - Stellarium is a well known program you can download for free. http://www.stellarium.org/en_CA/
