Are gender therapists covered by insurance?

I need to talk to a gender therapist but my mom won t let me unless it s covered by insurance. I live in California btw. If it is covered, which insurance companies cover it?

    They usually only cover medically necessary treatment. Transgender reassignment is not medically necessary. They may pay for limited psychiatric consultation. Good Luck
