Do you often feel alone for being who you are?

I've felt that I never truly mix in any form of social setting or crowd, that I always seem to do or think what is in the opposite interests to those around me, that somehow by following this natural response of mine even when in a room filled with people I feel very alone in this world, there is a side to me I don't think I could ever fully explain to my own family or those closest to me, I wonder if anyone else out there feels the same.

Yea i feel exactly the same, all my life i was like that and that caused me so much frustration and suffering, because i couldnt accept myself as i am and i kept comparing myself with others who i used to consider "normal",not like me, a freak:D

But you know after experiencing so much pain you begin to understand that maybe this the way things are, you become leass resistant, more acceptant, maybe things wont get much better but you will gain more understanding, and tgat will make life easier, letting go and keeping a space for wondering about yourself and life mystery, will make life more alive and exciting, sometime in a negative way:D but other times in very wonderful ways..

And its good guys to find friends with similar nature, ways of thinking, talking and expressing ourselves to each other.. That can make a huge difference and a great step to feel better and accept ourselves more..

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts!

Often I do. I've never been popular. My son is now going through the same thing. He's always felt more comfortable hanging with the girls because he's not a rough and tumble kind of guy. He loves music and dancing and singing and tennis. It's very hard for him as it was for me. There are people out there who are like you and you need to find them and gravitate to them. They will support you and make you feel part of a group.

I feel alone all the time, even when I am surrounded by others. All my life I have felt like an outsider. The one who doesn't quite fit in. Too quiet. Not loud enough. The one who doesn't understand all the 'inside jokes'. I don't know why but it's just how I feel.

To feel alone would feel like an underestimation of humanity... that sense of peerlessness would embarrass me. Yes, however.

Your definitely not the only one and it would be great to be around those same people but they just seem so far away.
