Do you feel life has a purpose?

Remove the "besides God" - as an atheist I have a lot to live for. I am married and my wife is very important to me. There are causes that need my support - ending wars for once and for all (removing all religions would definitely move that forward), getting people to take the problems of overpopulation seriously, preserving wildlife habitats and the creatures who live in them, building a world where we can provide meaningful work opportunities for everyone .... Among other things!

And as an old man I haven't that much time left and there is a lot to do!

All life has a purpose. Its purpose is feeding, reproducing and not dying.

You can know it's true by how all living things strive to do that, and not just one species of hairless apes.

I feel very fortunately that, not believing in gods, I don't have to worry about some celestial dictator determining my purpose for me. Truth is--we are all responsible for deciding our life's purpose. For those who think it's a god deciding your purpose--it's not. It's some old guys in your church who are doing that.

I can think of a dozen reasons why life has purpose, yes

on the top of the list:

to worship and love God

to several God and man

marriage family and career

to get a body for the resurrection

to be tested for faith and obedience

Love is the most beautiful thing in this world, it is the closest we get to the divine and transcend to a spiritual consciousness that takes us far beyond our mortal restraints.

Make love your life purpose, all else is is superficial and unimportant, The only constraints we have are the ones we place on ourselves, free yourself from them and have love, everything else will fall away as you see how little value they have. Nothing else will matter.

Your life can have a purpose if you set one up for yourself. God or not, your life is about you and what you do with it.

Every child of God has a purpose in his/her life - to earn the citizenship of God's kingdom by doing what God guides him/her to accomplish for the benefit of humanity. Every child of God is precious for God. Every child of God has his/her needs met by God. They are protected by God from danger and illness. God guides the. These are bonus for the children of God.

I'm shocked that everyone is too blinded by ideology to recognize that people are destined to do certain things. It is so, and we frankly have no idea why.

No, because he created us. Our minds are corrupt and self serving therefore we cannot do it on our own. Christ says we are like children unto him. Can a child survive without an adult, can a child bring itself up?
