Locating a replacement Transistor.?
I have a shorted out Transistor and the markings are a fancy looking F which I assume its a Fairchild or Farnell.
Its either a 0037 or D037
Then below that it says MPS
Then below that A06.
Its for a Coleman Evcon Lower control board for a blend air deluxe attic vent fan.
http://cdn3.volusion.com/zdzkp.uzwmt/v/vspfiles/ph... this is what it looks like. It has 3 of them on Q1, Q5, Q3. The 4th one is marked as 2n3906.
I tried looking for a equivalent series of it but it comes up as unknown for me.
Ok I narrowed it down as a NPN type. I found a good one with the same numbers. Still trying to find a replacement.

MPSA06 is an NPN general purpose transistor. 80 volt, 500 mA.
The 2N3906 is PNP general purpose. -40V, -200 mA.
Digikey has them:

I'm sure Mouser, or one of the other suppliers would also carry them - they are both pretty standard parts.

Since the power transistor parts number cannot be traced correctly, however, any closer type power transistor can be used to replace them. Use your common sense from electronic to locate it is NPN or PNP, what is the voltage on its collector, what is its load current ( read from the fan since this board is its control board ). Or judge the size of transistor to estimate its power and current rate. Replace it with Vceo > 2 time source voltage, any power transistor work for audio amplifier ( transistor frequency bandwidth 1Mc to5Mc is good enough ) . That is a good repairman common practice.
