I have began dating a boy older than myself (12years older) I am 22 he is 35. Any opinions?

I am very young looking I only look 15, He is opposite he looks I can his age. We are both wheelchair bound . But my mum is always on to me he is to old for me. I can never recall her agreeing to me that I chose a nice boy. She has always something to say. I haven't dated much. But everyone was turned down. Should I walk away from this relationship to. To be honest I am aware there is a age gap and does bother me .
