First time going to Canada , I was thinking about heading to Quebec any suggestions, Places to stay , activities etc. ?

A group of my friends are thinking about heading to Quebec by group possible 6-8 of us . We are probably going to drive from NY . We have been tossing the idea of renting a cabin of some sort preferably with nearby activities age ranging 22- 27 ..Doesn't necessarily need to be a cabin. Pretty much looking to have a blast since non of us have left the country before figured we start in Canada Looking to go up there possibly late Feb.. OPEN TO ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS lol . Thanks .

    Try this web site.

I have no idea what activities your friends may want to do beside drinking in a cabin in the woods.

The weather is not much different from Upstate New York. Check the forecasts and pack accordingly.

Do you have ski gear or need to rent. What to go snowmobile exploring or by foot on snowshoe.

Stay near city stuff and the nightlife.

Enjoy your visit behave yourself and you are welcome to come back. DO NOT even think of drinking and driving. Penalties are harsh.

Big City of Montreal has the Big city stuff. If you want a small town adventure there are hundreds of those too. You do not just need to stay in one town or city for your entire stay.

Well, several things come to mind. Do ALL the people who are going have either a current passport (And, since you're talking about Feb 2016, the passports would have to valid for that time, not just now) or an enhanced driver's license. Without one of those, you're not getting into Canada, period.

Next, look up the weather info for the area you are going to in Quebec, as Quebec is HUGE, it's bigger than France. So, weather varies, but in general, Feb means snow and below freezing daytime highs.

Beyond that, you need to do your own looking, as there's no way to guess what kinds of areas and activities you would like.

If you are headed to Quebec in February, there is really only one place I'd recommend and that is Quebec City area. They have an annual Winter Carnival that is huge, and even includes a hotel and bar made out of ice.

Quebec in winter is cold and you get lots of snow. So if planning a trip here, make sure any vehicle you bring has good tires and is reliable in cold weather. If headed here from New York, I'd consider taking the Amtrak train to Montreal, then renting a car in Canada. Most car rental agencies don't like it when their cars are headed outside the country, and you end up paying a lot more for extra insurance. And if you rent a car in Montreal in February, that car is guaranteed to have winter tires, which is mandatory for vehicles registered in Quebec.

Another place to try if planning to rent a cottage or cabin is the Eastern Townships. You can cross into Canada at Derby Line, Vermont. There you will find several small towns where people rent out their summer cottages and holiday condos to people coming up for the ski season. You have several ski hills nearby (Mont Orford, Mont Sutton, Owl's Head, Mont Bromont...) and lots of bars and clubs in the Sherbrooke/Magog area that cater to tourists and locals alike.

Depending on how the warm or cold the season is, you might get a chance to visit a maple sugar camp in late February. Sometimes if we get a warm spell, they open early and start serving meals and offering horsedrawn sleigh rides in the maple groves.

Hopefully that gives you a few ideas. Make sure to review entry requirements to Canada, as well as re-entry requirements to USA.

Good luck in a cabin, in February in Montreal, It was -30C in Quebec at times last winter. Stick with a hotel.
