Bearded dragon terrarium?

So I have a juvenile beardie about 6-7 months old and I have a 20 gallon terrarium for her and I'm going to get a larger tank (40 gallon). I was just wondering when I should upgrade to a bigger one. Thanks!

Upgrade to a bigger one once you feel it doesn't have much room, like not being able to run or climb or anything. 40 gallons should be plenty. I have a ball python about 2 1/2 feet long in a 40 gallon tank and he loves it.
