Am I alone in thinking that the problem with the American government is actually the apathy of the American people?
Americans are completely disengaged. We are more interested in hearing about Justin Beber's drunk driving charges then we are in learning about the implications of new laws being enacted in support of NSA monitoring.

The apparent "apathy" is the result of two parties each trying to make every tiny issue of the other party into a "world shattering event”. We get this exaggerated and hysterical rhetoric over and over and over again. It's amazing how many people in both parties seem to eat this stuff up when it is against the other side and ignore it when it's against our side. The media now lives on this stuff and the rest of us have grown tired of trying to sort it out, hence, the appearance of apathy.

I have been watching Trump draw and incredible amount of support. I like to watch him flaunt his asshole celebrity persona. But honestly, he is only entertaining. People are supporting him, but if they actually listen carefully, most of his time at a podium is spend on a mindless tirade. I've listened to him a lot and I still have no idea what his plans are. People will vote for him because he entertains them.
