Question about big medical bill after 2hr surgery?

On my way to work,I run for bus and fall down ground and suffer from elbow bone fracture, after 2 hr surgery to place plate and screws, and 1 month later, the bill from hospital comes in,stuning $35K , even after insurance, I still need to pay several thousands.

questions:

1. Are there more bills come from dr and anesthetist?

2. Can I ask the details of $35k come from? and negotiate the bill?

3. Since broken bone, I can't work and no income, no compensation, can I ask lower the bill or installment?

4. after surgery and physical therapy, my elbow is still on lock position, only 15 degree bend stretch movement( normal is 130 degree), can I say the operation isn't successful and refuse pay the bill?

I suggest you see a physician, who can run some additional diagnostic test and determine the extent of your condition. The doctor can then outline the best course of treatment for you.
