As an administrator, do the following:

    1) Hold the Windows key and tap R.

    2) In the RUN dialogue box type "netplwiz" (without the quotes) and hit Enter.

    3) In the User Accounts windows that should open, make sure the tick box saying that users must enter a user name and password to use the computer.

    4) Click on the account you want to log in automatically.

    5) Untick the tick box and click OK.

    6) Reboot the computer. It should log straight in to the chosen account.

There is a separate setting in power options that controls whether a password is used after the computer has been in standby (sleeping).

    I hope this helps.

  • Set up a local user account with no password. It's best not to set this up as an administrator account. Reboot and when Windows asks for a password click on the arrow. Select the account with no password and it will log in.

If you want that account to behave in the same way as the one with the password, go through Computer, Drive C: Users and copy all the files and folders under the passworded account to the new one. (It takes a long time) You will still need to use the password to perform administrator functions.

Go to the Control Panel Click on the User icon You can either add a password to the existing account And/or set up a second limited user account for the student to use With a second account that student would have their own desktop and My Documents folder and be unable to see your documents
