Are 5 seconds of summers underrated?

Even though they are often in the shadows of the back party of the stage, One Direction does have a band that plays instruments and they are very good. They are four other young guys who have been with the singers all along. One Direction is not a traditional boy band. They are a band with 4 singers (previously 5), one of whom also plays guitar onstage for many songs.

If you never listened to 5SOS, just listen to Youtube videos where they play live, studio and with an audience. IMO they sound good live in a studio but can be a bit sloppy musically live w/ an audience.

Its a personal preference and just because one direction does not mean that they are any less better or worse. Take a look at their fans, 5 seconds of summer just happens to play their own instruments. They still have the fans

If they were rated as they should be, they wouldn't be rated at all.
