Hoof question?
This isn't my situation but I was wondering. Let's say you have a horse who goes barefoot and has very little heel. Would being pastured on a hill all the time cause the horse to wear his heel off so it becomes even less heel? Sorry if that doesn't make sense

How big is the pasture? If you're talking about at least 100' x 100', wouldn't the horse move around enough to make the wear basically even on all feet? I mean they change position and wander all day long.
Really a low heel is a farrier issue, not a pasture issue, in my mind.

Decent pastures are GOOD for horses with hoof issues. His heels and toes will wear down less, so the farrier can address the heel issue, and then his heels and toes will wear down easily.
Hills won't cause him to wear down unevenly, because he'll be going down as much as he goes up.

It would cause it to wear down a bit but you would be better to keep him/her on a soft area such as a pastured hill as it's softer rather than gravel/tarmac etc.

True barefoot horses walk on their frogs which pad the heel area. check out pic of the wild mustang foot online. hills are good for healthy horses.
