How long after gum graft should stitches be removed?

Update:

Last week I had a gum graft done on one of my teeth. At the time the dentist said that he'll see me in two weeks to remove the stitches, but when I called the office back to confirm, they said that the next available appointment wasn't until a full 4 weeks after the graft was done.

Does this sound legit? I'm starting to worry a little bit, and if there are any complications I'm not optimistic that they'd be able to address it promptly.

Whenever your dentist tells you they should be removed, typically around 7-10 days, or maybe longer.
