They all sound about the same. The difference is longevity, and it's hard to determine that just from a brand name. (Taiyo Yuden is probably the brand held in the highest regard; then again, they manufacture for several better-known brands.)

Do you mean brands of CD-Rs? I haven't noticed a difference in quality between different brands.

It isn't like a record. It is just 1s and 0s - digital. As long as you don't scratch it, it will be fine.
